Rumpl is a blanket with high end sleeping bag lineage. From the back of your truck to your buddies couch to your bed, this might be one of the most versatile, simple (and cool) products we’ve seen lately…
My name is Jeff Brines and I have a secret to tell everyone. I’m a whore for good bedding, but being I’m a guy, I never know what to buy and have panic attacks when walking into bedding stores. Enter Rumpl. Part high end sleeping bag, part blanket and 100% functional.
The San Fran based company has recruited the likes of a 20 year veteran of the outdoor industry to help design and produce a blanket that is closer to a high end sleeping bag than the thing you currently have covering your bed.
The blanket is washable, light weight and fits into a stuff sack. The reason we dig this thing is it fits the middle ground between a full on sleeping bag and a non-technical blanket. We’d feel comfortable bringing one of these to Fairy Meadow (hut trip) or stashing in our truck for emergencies (or road trips where we are couch surfing). Its the perfect skid blanket to keep you warm, keep you alive if you are stuck in your truck and make your bed look like you actually care to a “special friend”.
In Wylie’s words (co-founder of the company) “I like to think the Rumpl is the Snuggie who went abroad for a year,” Robinson added, “and returned with a taste for fine wine. It’s the grown up Snuggie.”
Although the company has met their funding goal we contacted them and they assured us the more money they bring in the better they can do their jobs. Go checkout the Kickstarter and consider pre ordering one of these things.
